Delta Reign: ETB preorder 98% over MSRP – buy or wait?

Delta Reign ETB costs 98.99 USD in the US (MSRP 49.99) and from 369 PLN in Poland. Price data, Mega Rayquaza ex and release date: preorder or wait?
Published: October 19, 2026Last updated: October 23, 2026Reading time: 13 min

In short

  • The median ETB price across 15 US shops is 98.99 USD against a 49.99 USD MSRP, a premium of 98%.
  • In every category, all offers below the cheapest orderable price are marked as unavailable: in the US 5 of 15 ETB entries below 89 USD, in Poland 11 of 26 below 369 PLN.
  • Orderable Polish prices start at 369 PLN for the ETB (median of orderable: 379.95 PLN, 11 shops) and 799 PLN for the booster box (median 799.99 PLN, 11 shops).
  • Earlier sets behaved differently: the 30th Celebration ETB got 11.9% cheaper in Poland within five weeks and 30.5% in the US, while the Pitch Black ETB has barely moved in Poland two months after release.
  • Our data gives no single answer: a 10% drop in the US over three weeks of preorder argues for waiting, but only 6 of 15 shops have the ETB orderable today.

In US shops the Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box is listed at a median of 98.99 USD in preorder, 98% above the 49.99 USD suggested retail price (as of 18 October 2026, per CardPulse). In Poland the cheapest ETB you can actually order costs 369 PLN, and a 36-pack booster box 799 PLN. The set releases on 6 November 2026, so below we look at what the data says about "preorder now or wait?".

The ETB costs 98.99 USD in the US, almost double MSRP

The median ETB price across 15 US shops is 98.99 USD against a 49.99 USD MSRP, a premium of 98%. The booster box (36 packs) has a median of 242.47 USD against 161.64 USD MSRP (+50%), and the booster bundle (6 packs) 54.95 USD against 26.94 USD (+104%).

Data: CardPulse, English-language offers in US shops, as of 18 October 2026; MSRP per Cardrake. Cardmarket entries, case listings and placeholder prices (0 USD, 9999 USD) are not counted.

An outside reference shows the same picture. According to TCGIndex on 13 October 2026, the ETB sat at 122.26 USD in preorder on TCGplayer (−8.6% in 30 days) and the Pokémon Center ETB at 457.21 USD (−18.2%).

How we count: each shop contributes its cheapest English offer, and the median runs over shops, not offers. We leave out case listings (such as a carton of 6 displays), products from other categories (such as blisters filed under Bundle) and placeholder prices. Japanese editions that also show up in US results are kept separate.

Tip: when you compare prices, always look at the "orderable" column. The lowest value in the table is often a product you cannot actually buy; the next section explains why.

The cheapest listings are almost always not orderable

In every category, all offers below the cheapest orderable price are marked as unavailable: in the US 5 of 15 ETB entries below 89 USD, in Poland 11 of 26 below 369 PLN. A "from 49.99 USD" headline is therefore not the price you pay today; the real cost is 89 USD and up.

Data: CardPulse, English offers in US and Polish shops, as of 18 October 2026; "orderable" = offer marked as available.

  • US, ETB. Two shops show 49.99 USD (exactly MSRP) and three more 74.99–79.99 USD; none of these five entries is orderable right now.
  • US, booster box. Two entries at 161.64 USD each (equal to MSRP) plus 199.99 and 209.99 USD are unavailable; the first orderable offer is 219 USD.
  • Poland, ETB. All 11 offers from 279 PLN to 349.95 PLN are unavailable; the cheapest orderable one costs 369 PLN.
  • Poland, booster box. Five entries from 729 PLN to 792 PLN are unavailable; the cheapest orderable box costs 799 PLN.

Why is that? It is a hypothesis: shops may keep a launch price whose allocation is already gone, or may be closing their preorder round. All we know from the data is that "unavailable" is the one thing all the lowest prices have in common.

Cardmarket entries (89 USD for the ETB, 214.90 USD for the box) appear identically in all three countries. We treat them as reference values rather than a shop offer and do not count them.

In Poland the ETB starts at 369 PLN and the box at 799 PLN; Germany lacks data

Orderable Polish prices start at 369 PLN for the ETB (median of orderable: 379.95 PLN, 11 shops) and 799 PLN for the booster box (median 799.99 PLN, 11 shops). Including unavailable entries, the spread is 279–399.90 PLN for the ETB (26 shops) and 729–999 PLN for the box (27 shops).

Data: CardPulse, lowest daily price in Polish shops, English edition, history 8–18 October 2026 for the box and 14–18 October 2026 for the ETB.

The box price history fell from 849 PLN (8 Oct) to 799 PLN (18 Oct), down 5.9%, while offers rose from 1 to 2. The ETB price stayed at 369.99 PLN on all 5 measured days, and a single booster pack costs 23.99 PLN (cheapest of 8 orderable shops).

Chart of the lowest prices for the Delta Reign booster box (799 PLN) and booster pack (23.99 PLN) in Polish shops
Lowest available daily price in Poland: box from 849 PLN to 799 PLN, booster pack steady at 23.99 PLN. Period: 8–18 October 2026.

Germany: CardPulse has only one German shop with a price (ETB 55.46 EUR, box 181.51 EUR, booster pack 6.05 EUR), and none of those entries is orderable. We draw no conclusions from a single shop; there is no price history for Germany yet.

A note on currencies: without a verified exchange rate we do not compare zloty and dollars, and the US MSRP does not map directly onto Polish shops, which add their own margin, duties and shipping. That is why we quote price levels for Poland but no percentages above MSRP.

Do prices fall after release? What earlier sets show

Earlier sets behaved differently: the 30th Celebration ETB got 11.9% cheaper in Poland within five weeks and 30.5% in the US, while the Pitch Black ETB has barely moved in Poland two months after release. Drops are possible, but there is no rule to build a decision on.

Data: CardPulse, lowest available daily price, ETB EN; 30th Celebration (released 16 September 2026): PL 15 Sep–18 Oct, DE 18 Sep–18 Oct, US 29 Sep–18 Oct; Pitch Black (released 17 July 2026): 21 Sep–18 Oct.

Pitch Black, Poland349.90 PLN349.00 PLN−0.3%3 → 8
Delta Reign, US (preorder)109.95 USD98.99 USD−10.0%2 → 2

Two caveats apply. First, 30th Celebration is an anniversary set with an unusually high starting price, so big drops may reflect an overheated start. Second, we have Pitch Black in our data only since September, two months after release, so we do not see its first weeks.

In Poland, Delta Reign today sits only slightly above Pitch Black after two months on the market: ETB 369.99 PLN versus 349 PLN (+6.0%), and the box at 799 PLN, identical to Pitch Black (799 PLN, 8 shops). In the US the gap is wider: 98.99 USD versus 74.99 USD for the Pitch Black ETB (+32.0%), though that Pitch Black figure rests on 2 offers.

TCGplayer prices from 13 October 2026 (TCGIndex) give a clue: Pitch Black ETB 78.30 USD, Chaos Rising 70.23 USD, Perfect Order 73.37 USD, each 3 to 7 months after release. Delta Reign in preorder (122.26 USD) is 56% above Pitch Black. This is a hypothesis, not a forecast: if the ETB settles near the level of those three predecessors, 70–78 USD would be a drop of 36–43%, but over months, not weeks.

Preorder now or wait? It depends on what kind of buyer you are

Our data gives no single answer: a 10% drop in the US over three weeks of preorder argues for waiting, but only 6 of 15 shops have the ETB orderable today. This is not investment advice, just the arguments sorted by buyer type.

There is one asymmetry. If you wait and the price falls 10%, you save roughly 9–10 USD on the ETB or about 25 USD on the box in the US, which is how far prices have fallen in three weeks so far. If you wait and availability disappears (orderable today: 6 of 15 ETBs in the US and 11 of 26 in Poland), you may pay more or buy under worse terms. Which side weighs more depends on what freedom from risk is worth to you.

  • Players heading to prerelease. You can get playable cards in boosters too (7.49 USD, 23.99 PLN); sealed preorder is not needed, so a premium is hard to justify.
  • Collectors of the ETB with the Kyogre promo. The ETB includes the full-art Kyogre promo (MEP 117); if you want the sealed box, waiting risks availability but could benefit from drops.
  • Chase-card collectors. The expensive cards (see below) can be bought as singles; opening boxes is a gamble, so compare single cards against sealed.
  • Buyers holding sealed as a store of value. Nobody guarantees rising prices; earlier sets show drops but also stability. The risk runs both ways.

A simple procedure that limits risk without betting on price direction:

  1. Set a ceiling. For the ETB in Poland that might be the cheapest orderable offer (369 PLN), for the box 799 PLN.
  2. Check that the offer is orderable. Skip entries without availability; right now that means all of the lowest prices.
  3. Watch limits and cancellation fees. Some shops cap orders at 1–2 per person and charge fees on cancelled preorders (for example 10% at one US shop, per its product page).
  4. Set a price alert. On the price pages, a free CardPulse account lets you set a notification at a target price.
  5. Re-check after release. We will look at prices two weeks after 6 November 2026 and report whether the hypothesis of a drop held.

Card list: 4× Mega Rayquaza ex and the most expensive cards

Delta Reign is the English release of the Japanese set Storm Emeralda (M6, 31 July 2026) plus cards from the Japanese MEGA starter sets: 103 numbered cards and about 37 secret rares (14 Illustration Rares, 17 Ultra Rares, 6 Special Illustration Rares), about 140 cards in total. Officially Pokémon says "over 135 cards", while Serebii still uses the placeholder numbering /128; only the full list will settle the discrepancy.

Data: Cardrake and Serebii (as of 18 October 2026); Japanese prices from TCGplayer, Japanese market, 3 October 2026. Japanese prices do not translate directly to English ones.

Japanese version (Storm Emeralda): Mega Rayquaza ex SAR (110), gold Mega Rayquaza ex (113) and Raikou ex SAR (108).

According to Cardrake, Japanese prices have fallen roughly 70% from launch-week highs. After that drop the gold version costs about 946 USD; English prices may differ, because English booster packs hold 10 cards and Japanese ones 5.

There are no official pull rates. The community estimates the gold Rayquaza at about 2% of Japanese displays, but that figure does not carry over to English packs with a different card count; treat it as an unofficial side note.

Other SIRs include Zinnia's Trust, Mega Golisopod ex, Mega Golurk ex and Aarune. Mega ex in the set: Golisopod 011, Golurk 047, Malamar 069; regular ex: Heat Rotom 023, Wishiwashi 029, Raikou 033. All cards with images are in the Delta Reign guide.

New mechanic: Legendary Stadiums

The set introduces three Legendary Stadiums, each made of two Uncommon cards sharing one illustration. You need both halves to play: Legendary Summit (096/097) and Legendary Ocean Trench (098/099) have been shown in English, the third with a lava motif has not. It recalls the LEGEND cards from HeartGold SoulSilver.

Delta Reign has no Delta Species cards

The name refers to the Delta episode from ORAS, not to δ cards. Many searches get this wrong: there are no Delta Species cards in this set.

What is in the boxes and what a booster pack costs

The ETB holds 9 booster packs and the full-art Kyogre promo (MEP 117); the Pokémon Center ETB holds 11 packs and Kyogre with a PC stamp. The booster box has 36 packs of 10 cards in four designs: Mega Rayquaza, Golisopod, Golurk and Malamar.

Data: Cardrake (US MSRP and contents) and CardPulse (prices, cheapest orderable offer, 18 October 2026). Price per pack in Poland = product price / number of packs.

  • Booster Bundle. 6 packs, MSRP 26.94 USD (4.49 USD per pack).
  • 3-pack blister. With a Seel promo (MEP 116), MSRP 13.99 USD; checklane blister with Spritzee (MEP 115) 5.50 USD.
  • Build & Battle Box. 21.99 USD, 1 of 4 promos (MEP 111–114), in general retail from 20 November 2026.
  • Pokémon Center ETB. 59.99 USD (price not officially confirmed), limit of 2 per order.

In Poland, 799 PLN for the box works out at 22.19 PLN per pack, 7.5% less than a single pack at 23.99 PLN. The ETB at 369 PLN comes to 41.00 PLN per pack, 1.85 times the box, but it includes a promo, a box, sleeves and accessories. In the US: ETB 89 USD → 9.89 USD per pack, box 219 USD → 6.08 USD, bundle 44.95 USD → 7.49 USD.

The booster bundle has only 2 offers in Poland so far (189.90 PLN and 199 PLN, about 31.65–33.17 PLN per pack), too few to say anything about the market. See also the price pages for the booster bundle and blisters. How to read a price history chart is covered in Price history: lowest price or median?.
