In short
- Pitch Black has the most in-stock single EN booster offers in all three countries (15 in Poland, 7 in Germany, 21 in the US), so it serves as the reference.
- When each market is compared only with itself, older sets cost between 2.0 and 3.04 times as much as Pitch Black.
- The same pack costs 19% to 44% more at the most expensive in-stock Polish shop than at the cheapest.
- In Poland 15 of 36 known Pitch Black offers are in stock (42%), but only 4 of 14 for Ascended Heroes (29%) and 6 of 18 for Prismatic Evolutions (33%).
- The lowest Polish price for Prismatic Evolutions fell from 79 zł to 65 zł between 18 Sep 2026 and 18 Oct 2026 (−17.7%), and the number of offers rose from 2 to 6.
A single Pokémon TCG booster from an older set costs two to three times as much as a Pitch Black pack in shops – in Poland, Germany and the US alike. In Poland the median of in-stock EN boosters is 25 zł for Pitch Black, 69 zł for Ascended Heroes and 76 zł for Prismatic Evolutions (as of 19 Oct 2026, per CardPulse).
The flip side is availability: in Poland 42% of known Pitch Black offers are in stock, but only 29% for Ascended Heroes and 33% for Prismatic Evolutions. Below we show the data, its limits, and what it means when you buy single packs.
Pitch Black is our yardstick: 25 zł median across 15 in-stock offers
Pitch Black has the most in-stock single EN booster offers in all three countries (15 in Poland, 7 in Germany, 21 in the US), so it serves as the reference. We compare it with Ascended Heroes, Prismatic Evolutions and 30th Celebration, the three sets that show clearly higher prices in the “booster” category.
Data: lowest prices of in-stock offers in Polish shops per CardPulse, single boosters in English (including “sleeved” variants), excluding Cardmarket and multi-pack lots, as of 19 Oct 2026.
| Set (EN booster) | In-stock offers | Min (zł) | Median (zł) | Max (zł) | Max vs min |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pitch Black | 15 | 22.99 | 25.00 | 33.00 | +44% |
| Ascended Heroes | 4 | 59.00 | 69.00 | 69.99 | +19% |
| Prismatic Evolutions | 6 | 65.00 | 76.00 | 89.99 | +38% |
| 30th Celebration | 3 | 45.00 | 50.00 | 56.00 | +24% |
According to our set guide, Prismatic Evolutions was released on 17 Jan 2025, yet one pack costs 65 zł at the cheapest shop – 2.83 times the cheapest Pitch Black pack (22.99 zł). The guides are here: Prismatic Evolutions, Ascended Heroes and Pitch Black.
30th Celebration (released 16 Sep 2026 per our release calendar) is a special case: a special set, and three in-stock offers are too few for firm conclusions. We list it for completeness but do not build the main claim on it.
The 2.0–3.0× multiple repeats in Poland, Germany and the US
When each market is compared only with itself, older sets cost between 2.0 and 3.04 times as much as Pitch Black. That sidesteps the currency problem: we compare ratios within one country, not zloty against euros and dollars.
Data: median of in-stock single EN boosters per country per CardPulse, divided by the Pitch Black median in the same country, as of 19 Oct 2026.
| Set | Poland (zł) | Germany (€) | US ($) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pitch Black (median) | 25.00 | 6.99 | 6.99 |
| Ascended Heroes | 2.76× | 2.86× (1 offer) | 2.72× |
| Prismatic Evolutions | 3.04× | 2.85× | 2.22× |
| 30th Celebration | 2.00× | 2.57× (1 offer) | 2.00× |
In Germany, Ascended Heroes and 30th Celebration have only one in-stock offer each (€19.99 and €17.99), so those two multiples are weak. The most reliable comparisons are Poland (3 to 15 offers per set) and the US (3 to 21 offers).
The reason we can only guess. Hypothesis: after the main print run ends, shops stop restocking older sets, and opened packs leave the market. We have no data on print runs or wholesale, so this stays a hypothesis, not a finding.

💰 Compare prices →Differences between shops: 19–44% in Poland, up to 82% in the US
The same pack costs 19% to 44% more at the most expensive in-stock Polish shop than at the cheapest. In the US the spread is wider: from 57% (Ascended Heroes, $13.95–$21.95) to 82% (Pitch Black, $5.50–$10.00).
Data: in-stock offers of single EN boosters per CardPulse, ratio of highest to lowest price per country, as of 19 Oct 2026.
In zloty the cheapest shop saves more on the pricier sets. For Pitch Black the gap between median (25 zł) and minimum (22.99 zł) is 2.01 zł, or 8%. For Ascended Heroes it is 10 zł (69 zł versus 59 zł), for Prismatic Evolutions 11 zł (76 zł versus 65 zł). Both are 14.5% of the median.
- One pack. 10–11 zł does not change a budget, but it shows that comparing pays off even for single items.
- Ten packs. For Prismatic Evolutions that is 110 zł saved (10 × 11 zł) if you buy at the minimum instead of the median. This is simple arithmetic, not a promise: the cheapest offer is often at one shop only.
- Shipping. No price in this article includes shipping, and for single packs it can exceed the price difference.
Older sets are in stock less often: 29–33% of offers in Poland versus 42% for Pitch Black
In Poland 15 of 36 known Pitch Black offers are in stock (42%), but only 4 of 14 for Ascended Heroes (29%) and 6 of 18 for Prismatic Evolutions (33%). Germany and the US look similar: Pitch Black has 50% and 60% of offers in stock, Ascended Heroes 14% and 54%.
Data: offers flagged “in stock” relative to all offers CardPulse knows for a single EN booster (excluding Cardmarket), as of 19 Oct 2026. Offers are database rows, not a shop’s inventory.
The metric has limits. The list also contains sold-out offers and shops that display a product but do not ship it. So we do not infer stock quantities from it, only how often an offer we know of can actually be bought.
Practical consequence: for an older set, check availability before you calculate the saving. The cheapest Ascended Heroes offer in Germany (€11.90) is currently sold out, and the one in-stock offer costs €19.99. The gap between “known” and “buyable” is €8.09 per pack here (68%).
A booster’s lowest price jumps by 5–10 zł because cheap offers drop out
The lowest Polish price for Prismatic Evolutions fell from 79 zł to 65 zł between 18 Sep 2026 and 18 Oct 2026 (−17.7%), and the number of offers rose from 2 to 6. The path was not straight, though: the minimum took five values in that time (79; 74.99; 69; 65.50; 65 zł) and went back to 74.99 zł twice (1 Oct and 8 Oct).
Data: lowest price of an in-stock offer in the “booster” category for the Prismatic Evolutions set in Polish shops per CardPulse, 18 Sep–18 Oct 2026 (31 days). The category mixes several editions; values apply to offers in stock on the day.
Ascended Heroes behaves similarly, on a smaller scale. The minimum was 59 zł from 21 Sep to 14 Oct, then 69 zł for two days (15–16 Oct, with 3 instead of 4 offers) and 59 zł again since 17 Oct. Hypothesis: the cheapest offer was briefly unavailable and returned after restocking. The data do not settle it.
Conclusion: for single boosters the “lowest price” is not a trend but the result of which cheap offers happen to be in stock. That is why we advised looking at the median too in our article on price history. With 2–6 offers, one sold-out listing can shift the minimum by 5–10 zł.
Tip: if the minimum suddenly jumps up by a few zloty, check the offer list to see whether the cheaper listing simply sold out. On the Prismatic Evolutions box prices page you can switch the chart from lowest price to median.
Same set in three editions: CN from €5.95, JP from €10.95, EN €17.99 in Germany
For 30th Celebration the language edition moves the price more than the set’s age: in Germany in-stock CN packs cost €5.95–€7.90, JP packs €10.95–€12.99, and the one in-stock shop offer for the EN edition €17.99. That is 3.0 times the cheapest CN pack (€17.99 versus €5.95).
Data: in-stock offers of single 30th Celebration boosters in German shops per CardPulse, Cardmarket entry (EN, €10.40) shown separately, as of 19 Oct 2026.
| Edition | In-stock offers | Range (€) |
|---|---|---|
| CN (simplified and traditional Chinese) | 4 | 5.95–7.90 |
| JP | 3 | 10.95–12.99 |
| EN (shop) | 1 | 17.99 |
| EN (Cardmarket) | 1 | 10.40 |
The editions are not interchangeable: a different language and possibly different pack contents. That is why we compare only EN with EN throughout, and this table only warns against a single shared “minimum” for the whole category. If you open packs just for fun, CN or JP can be a cheaper option; for an English-language collection it is not.
Cardmarket shows prices 1.7–2.4× below German shops
The Cardmarket entry in CardPulse costs €3.00 for Pitch Black and €8.50 for Ascended Heroes, while the cheapest in-stock shop offer in Germany is €5.99 and €19.99, or 2.0 and 2.35 times as much. For 30th Celebration the Cardmarket entry (€10.40) is 1.73 times below the only in-stock offer from a German shop (€17.99).
Data: Cardmarket entries and cheapest in-stock shop offers in Germany per CardPulse, EN booster, as of 19 Oct 2026. Prices exclude shipping.
| EN booster | Cardmarket (€) | Cheapest DE shop (€) | Ratio |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pitch Black | 3.00 (was 4.90, −38.8%) | 5.99 | 2.00× |
| Ascended Heroes | 8.50 (was 10.99, −22.7%) | 19.99 | 2.35× |
| 30th Celebration | 10.40 | 17.99 | 1.73× |
Both Cardmarket drops (Pitch Black from €4.90 to €3.00, Ascended Heroes from €10.99 to €8.50) showed up in our deal radar over the last three days. They are single entries, not a median of many sellers, and can change quickly.
The comparison is imperfect because the sales model differs: Cardmarket is a marketplace, the shops in the table are retailers with their own costs and shipping rules. We do not know how many packs stand behind the Cardmarket entry, so we do not conclude that shops charge “too much”. The claim is narrower: for small purchases it is worth checking the marketplace too, but add up shipping from several sellers.
Data traps with boosters: outliers, sleeved packs and multi-packs
The “booster” category contains lots of 10 and 36, sold-out offers with prohibitive prices and “sleeved” variants, so the raw price range can reach 26-fold. In the US the Pitch Black list runs from $5.49 to $144.90 (26.4×), although in-stock packs cost $5.50–$10.00 (1.82×).
Data: all EN booster offers in the US per CardPulse (including sold out), as of 19 Oct 2026. The outliers below were not counted in any figure in this article.
- $144.90. A sold-out “10 Count” Pitch Black listing, i.e. a multi-pack and not a single pack.
- $65 and $70. Sold-out single-pack listings of Ascended Heroes and Prismatic Evolutions at one shop. In-stock packs cost $13.95–$21.95 and $12.99–$21.95 respectively.
- Sleeved. According to shop descriptions the sleeved variant is the same booster with an extra sleeve. We include it for Pitch Black and do not separate the two variants in the tables.
- Other languages. In the “booster” category 30th Celebration mixes EN, JP, CN and KR editions (for example the Chinese edition from €5.95 in Germany). For comparisons we use EN only.
Such cases are easiest to spot when the number of offers sits next to the value. For medians and percentages we therefore always state how many offers they rest on, and we treat short series (1–3 offers) as anecdotes, not results.
What this means for you: three types of buyers
The result depends on the buyer, but for all three the in-stock offer matters more than the lowest price from the chart. Short pointers follow, without investment advice and without a price forecast.
- Player or open-for-fun buyer. Pitch Black costs 25 zł (median), about one third of Prismatic Evolutions (76 zł). With 15 offers in stock you can easily find a shop where you order several packs at once.
- Collector of a specific set. For Ascended Heroes and Prismatic Evolutions the choice is narrow (4 and 6 in-stock offers in Poland). Check the single-card prices of the cards you want before paying 65–90 zł for a random pack.
- Sealed collector. Compare the booster price with the box price of the same set on the Ascended Heroes or Prismatic Evolutions pages and divide it by the number of packs in the box. We do not give a result here because it depends on edition and language version.
For comparison take 20 packs. With the medians from the table that is 500 zł for Pitch Black (20 × 25 zł) versus 1,520 zł for Prismatic Evolutions (20 × 76 zł), a difference of 1,020 zł. If you bought all 20 Prismatic Evolutions packs at the minimum (65 zł) it would be 1,300 zł. This is arithmetic on today’s prices, not a forecast.
The median is the middle value of the list of in-stock offers: half of the offers are cheaper, half more expensive. With an even number of offers (for example 6 for Prismatic Evolutions) we average the two middle prices, hence 76 zł instead of one specific offer.
What the data do not say: we do not know whether prices of older sets will rise, fall or stay flat. We only have a snapshot from 19 Oct 2026 and short series (31 days for Prismatic Evolutions, 29 for Ascended Heroes).
How to check the price of a single pack in five steps
Five steps are enough to find the real price of a pack in a few minutes instead of the one on the chart. Step 3 saves the most time because it excludes sold-out offers.
- Enter the set name. On the home page search for the name (e.g. “Pitch Black Booster”) and pick the country.
- Pick the language edition. Make sure the offer is EN (or the language you want), not CN, JP or KR.
- Hide what is not in stock. Leave the option to show unavailable offers switched off (the default). Sold-out entries drag down the apparent minimum.
- Compare the minimum with the median. If an offer is more than 15% below the median, check the shop’s shipping and reviews.
- Set a price alert. With the free account, create a notification for your target price. Upcoming sets are in the release calendar.
Tip: do not order packs from several shops at once just for a 2 zł difference. Two shipping fees eat the saving.
What we will check next: Delta Reign (6 Nov 2026)
The next Pokémon release in our calendar is Delta Reign (6 Nov 2026), so after launch we will compare its boosters with Pitch Black using the same method. Our hypothesis to test: a new set starts with fewer in-stock offers and a wider price spread than Pitch Black (44%), and the spread narrows as more shops join.
If the hypothesis does not hold, we will say so openly. How ETBs and boxes moved after the 30th Celebration release is in our earlier report.

Frequently asked questions
What does a single Pitch Black booster cost in Poland?
The median of in-stock EN offers is 25 zł, with a range of 22.99–33 zł across 15 offers (as of 19 Oct 2026, CardPulse).
Why are boosters from older sets more expensive?
Per our data they cost 2.0 to 3.04 times as much as Pitch Black. We do not know the cause; one hypothesis is that shops stop restocking after printing ends.
Is the lowest booster price on the chart reliable?
Only partly. With 2–6 offers one sold-out listing shifts the minimum by 5–10 zł, so also check the median and the offer list.
Is Cardmarket cheaper than shops?
Cardmarket entries were 1.7 to 2.4 times below the cheapest in-stock shops in Germany, but prices exclude shipping and can change quickly.
Are CN or JP packs an alternative?
For 30th Celebration in Germany CN packs cost €5.95–€7.90, JP €10.95–€12.99, EN €17.99. They are different editions, not a substitute for an English collection.
Is this investment advice?
No. It is a snapshot of prices from 19 Oct 2026 without a forecast; we do not know how prices will develop.
